A Harvest alternative with one price, and your history.
If your Harvest renewal jumped this year, you’re not imagining it, and you have good options. Here is what changed, with sources, the main alternatives, and an honest view of where Weft fits and where it doesn’t.
What changed at Harvest
- A new owner. Bending Spoons acquired Harvest. Reports differ on timing: Silicon UK says the deal was agreed in June 2025 and completed in 2026.
- A new way of charging. Pricing now combines per-seat fees with usage fees for invoices, projects, clients and tasks. On 23 October 2026 Harvest’s pricing page said extras are “billed based on what you use” and published no unit prices.
- Large renewals. Bloomberg Law reported renewals rising 10–17 times, including a 13-year customer whose $211.20 yearly plan renewed at $2,547.60 (13 August 2026). Silicon UK, citing the BBC, reported a consultant’s bill going from $130 to $2,110 a month (31 August 2026).
- Unhappy customers. Harvest’s Trustpilot score was 1.6 out of 5 in October 2026. Trustpilot doesn’t verify reviews, so treat individual stories with care.
To be fair to Harvest: it is a mature, capable product with team timesheets, approvals, integrations and native apps. If your renewal barely moved and your team relies on those features, staying may well be the right call.

Where Weft fits, and where it doesn’t
A good fit if you
- bill by the hour, alone or for a small studio, from one computer
- want to pay once and never meet a usage meter
- care that your client data never leaves your machine
- invoice EU or German clients and need the wording and e-invoices right
- have years of Harvest history you’d rather keep
Not a fit yet if you
- need a team sharing live timers, or timesheet approvals
- rely on integrations with Jira, Asana or your accounting software
- want your timer synced across phone and laptop today (Sync is planned)
- take card payments through the invoice itself
Moving from Harvest in an afternoon
- In Harvest, open Reports → Detailed time, choose All time and export a CSV. Export your invoices too, to keep your numbering and open balances.
- Drop the file into the free Harvest checker. It reconciles hours and amounts per currency against your file, on your computer.
- If it matches, import into Weft. Harvest’s rounding is detected and explained, and your next invoice number continues where Harvest stopped.
